The Vietnam War

When I was first introduced to this topic and event, I knew nothing about it except the basics. I knew the war took place in Vietnam, I knew that it was between the United States vs. Vietnam, and I also knew that the United States quit the war. I wanted to know who was the president during the war and why did the United States fight in the war. After learning so much and reading about the Vietnam War, I learned that the United fought because of communism, 58,00 Americans died, 304,000 were wounded, and 76,000 were disabled that was why the United States quit the war. I also learned that the United States spent 200 billion dollars on the war and the average age of soldiers was 19 years old.

Sweet Innocence – Benjamin Moore

Sweet Innocence – Benjamin Moore

2125-50

Sweet, innocent childhood,
You have evolved so much,
As the earth revolved
You grew with time

A childhood with such innocence
Still a world to discover
Scared, yet curious
To know what’s out there
Sweet, innocent childhood

The sun will rise,
And fill out your dark sky
Sweet, innocent childhood
It will clear the smoke,
Of your deep sorrows

Sweet, innocent childhood,
How has the time past by so fast
From a young child
To an old guilty adult

You are no more my
Sweet, innocent childhood
No more winds blowing through trees,
And birds chirp no more.

Sweet, innocent childhood,
Your Sweet Innocence,
Has gone away,
Why couldn't possibly stay.

Darkness rules,
Light falls,
And U just watch,
Sweet innocent childhood.

Hold on sweet innocent childhood,
Just a bit longer.
I'm coming for you,
Just for a bit longer.

Sweet, innocent childhood,
Your Sweet Innocence,
Has gone away,
But with demons will no longer stay.

Never Stop Dreaming

Everyone should dream, a dream lets you go to this imaginary place were everything is nice and pure. Its a place were goals are achieved and smiles appear. Some dreams become reality and some don’t but it comes to you if you are going to make the effort to make a dream come true. Here are some examples of poems about dreams that had an impact to me.

Dream Keeper by Langston Hughes

A Dream Within A Dream by Edgar Allen Poe

I Have A Dream by Lawrence Hiung

They Say... by Cheyanne Whien

Prejudice Can Lead You To So Many Things

In this article a young 17-year-old name Trayvon Martin went to the nearest convenient store to buy a bag of skittles and a bottle of ice tea. George Zimmerman the neighborhood watchmen saw a teenage boy in a hoody which was Trayvon Martin. He took it as a threat and called the police asking if he could fire his gun, however, they said he was not allowed to shoot anyone. He ignored the police and went towards the 17-year-old boy and fired his gun. The social media took this action as a racist attempt to kill the young boy. Now people all around the U.S are protesting towards this horrible racism act.

Prejudice can lead to many horrible think but mostly to injustice because if one person doesn’t like someone that person won’t always agree with him or would try to harm him in some way. Like in this case George Zimmerman felt prejudice to Trayvon Martin and that leaded Zimmerman to kill Martin. There were no cameras or any witnesses so he claimed that he acted in self-defense.

Some of each individual’s responsibility is to learn about others customs and cultures so they do not become prejudice and therefor their innocents will not be harmed. There wont be anything against each individual to harm each other.  Another responsibility as an individual would be to protect the innocent, it doesn’t matter if it’s someone you know or someone you don’t, you should always to the right thing and protect the innocent.

Many people are afraid of something they don’t even understand making them act the way George Zimmerman did on February 26th. He didn’t understand that Martin was more than just a black person in a hoody; he was a human being that had a bright future ahead of him. They way Zimmerman acted not only affected Martins feature it also made his parents loose a son and his brother to loose his only brother.

People are blinded by racism and discrimination that they don’t see what even really matters. Like if Martin was a girl I think he would have had higher chances of survival. Its horrible in what people keep in there minds about other people, instead of wondering if the person is a good and polite or if he was rude and uncivilized they wonder and judge them by there color. Its messed up that its counted suspicious if a black man is walking on the road and its normal for a white man to do.

Zimmerman made a fool out of him self, its sad that Trayvon Martin is dead today and George Zimmerman is still out there not being arrested for he has done. He should have been arrested a month ago for the racism act he just pulled of. I hate that we live in a world that people still can’t get along with each other as one.

To Kill A Mocking Bird Chapter 8

Finding out that Mrs. Radley died was horrible and we were shackled from going to that house. Jem and I think Boo was the on who killed her even tough Atticus making up a story that she died of natural cases. Jem started interrogating Atticus to find out if he was making up the story or if he was telling to truth, but Atticus was in no mood to answer back.  After a while Jem and I apprehended that Atticus was upset and  didn’t not ask more questions.
We came home early that day; it was bizarre, cold, and snowing for the first time in a while. 75 years has elapsed since it has rained the last time. It was nice not having the hot sweltering weather and instead having a nice and cold weather. Jem and I wanted to build a snowman, but there was not enough snow so we waited for more snowflakes to fall. But that was still not enough, so Jem had an idea to make a snowman out of dirt and then covering it with the little snow that we had. He started putting the gentle snow meticulously on top of the snowman. When Atticus saw the snowman he started lionizing it, and complimenting Jem and I. Soon the snowman started looking like Mr. Avery, so Jem and Atticus conspired to put a hat on the snowman to disguise it.
After finishing building the snowman a fire starts in Miss Maudie’s house, it was calamitous. Having a fire while it was snowing was a total anarchy to all of us. Looking in front of the house and everyone crowding. It was just a matter of time when we went there and assimilated into the crowd.
Seeing the huge fire that struck on Miss Maudie’s house made it imminent that it was going to collapse.
